As a graduate of the University of Washington, Sheila Whalen is a proud Husky Alum and supporter. She is a native Seattleite (one of the few left it seems) and feels fortunate to live and work in the Pacific Northwest, a place she considers to be one of the most beautiful places that she has ever travelled.
As a Mom to three amazing children, and one that has gone on to Heaven as an Angel, Sheila has always looked to balance work with family life. Elijah Blue Trading was named after her son who went on to Heaven, and was founded with the idea that life is short, and you should do what you love and love what you do!
Always busy, she volunteers at her Church, has Fostered a child, and sits on the Board of Seattle Angels, a non-profit whose mission is to walk alongside and empower Foster Children and Foster Families. Sheila is a breast cancer survivor and works to bring awareness and support the cause.
She’s been married to her husband Rob for 27 adventure filled years. When she’s not entertaining or traveling, you will find Sheila exploring along side her children who are currently adulting in the tech start-up world in San Francisco, CA, in graduate school in San Luis Obispo, CA, and playing basketball at Smith College in Northampton, MA. She loves exploring the outdoors in any season…skiing, hiking, biking, walking, pouring over creative blogs and cookbooks, tinkering in the kitchen, experiencing live music in all forms, listening to podcasts and drinking very good wine.
